Bermuda grass is a fast-growing, warm-season grass known for its fine texture and excellent drought tolerance. It forms a dense, dark green turf and is often used in athletic fields, golf courses, and home lawns.

Planting Instructions:

  • Best Time to Plant: spring to early summer.
  • Soil Preparation: Prefers well-drained soils with a pH of 6.0-7.5. Amend soil as necessary.
  • Planting Method: Can be established using seed, sod, or sprigs.
  • Seed: Sow at a rate of 1-2 pounds per 1,000 square feet. Lightly rake to cover seeds and water thoroughly.
  • Sod or Sprigs: Lay sod or plant sprigs, ensuring good soil contact. Space sprigs 6-12 inches apart if using.
  • Watering: Water immediately after planting and keep the soil consistently moist until established.
  • Maintenance: Mow to a height of 0.5-2.5 inches. Fertilize 3-5 times per year with a high-nitrogen fertilizer. Overseed with ryegrass in the winter if desired for year-round green.
