Planting Instructions:
-
-
- Location:Choose a site with well-drained soil and partial shade, as dogwoods prefer dappled sunlight or morning sun with afternoon shade.
- Planting:Dig a hole as deep as the root ball and two to three times as wide. Place the tree in the hole so that the top of the root ball is level with the soil surface.
- Spacing:Space dogwood trees about 20 to 30 feet apart, depending on the variety and mature size.
- Care:Water newly planted dogwoods regularly, especially during dry spells, to keep the soil consistently moist. Mulch around the base of the tree to retain moisture and suppress weeds. Prune selectively to maintain shape and remove dead or damaged branches.
