Planting Instructions:

      • Location:Choose a shaded to partially shaded location with fertile, well-drained soil. Hostas can tolerate a range of soil conditions but prefer moist, humus-rich soil.
      • Planting:Dig a hole that’s slightly larger than the plant’s root ball. Place the hosta in the hole, ensuring the crown (where the roots meet the stems) is at or slightly above the soil surface.
      • Spacing:Space hostas according to their mature size, typically about 18 to 24 inches apart.
      • Care:Water newly planted hostas regularly until established. Once established, they are relatively low-maintenance and only need supplemental watering during dry periods. Apply a layer of mulch around the plants to conserve moisture and suppress weeds. Divide overcrowded clumps every few years in early spring or fall for rejuvenation.
