Planting Instructions:

      • Location:Full sun to partial shade.
      • Soil:Well-drained, fertile soil with good organic content.
      • Planting: Plant bare-root or container-grown peonies in fall. Dig a hole deep enough to accommodate the roots without burying the crown (where the stems meet the roots). Space plants about 24 to 36 inches apart.
      • Watering:Water thoroughly after planting and keep soil consistently moist during the first growing season. Once established, peonies are drought-tolerant and require minimal watering.
      • Maintenance:Provide support for tall varieties to prevent stems from bending or breaking. Deadhead spent flowers to prevent seed formation and encourage stronger blooms. Cut back foliage to the ground in fall after frost to promote healthy growth in the following season.
