Planting Instructions:

  1. **Soaking** Begin by soaking red perilla seeds in water for 8-12 hours to facilitate germination. Use approximately 1-2 tablespoons of seeds per 10×10 inch tray.
  2. **Preparation** After soaking, drain the seeds and spread them evenly over the surface of a shallow tray filled with a thin layer of pre-moistened soil or hydroponic growing medium.
  3. **Covering** Lightly cover the seeds with a thin layer of soil or growing medium to help retain moisture and support germination. Press down gently on the soil to ensure good seed-to-soil contact.
  4. **Watering** Water the tray thoroughly, ensuring that the soil is evenly moist but not waterlogged. Use a spray bottle or watering can with a fine nozzle to avoid displacing the seeds.
  5. **Germination** Place the tray in a warm, well-lit location with indirect sunlight. Red perilla seeds typically germinate within 5-7 days. During germination, maintain consistent moisture levels by misting the seeds with water as needed.
  6. **Growing** Once the seeds have sprouted and developed small leaves (usually within 10-14 days), remove any covering and continue to water as necessary to keep the soil moist but not overly wet. Ensure adequate airflow to prevent mold or fungal growth.
  7. **Harvesting** Red perilla microgreens are ready to harvest when they reach a height of 2-3 inches and have developed their first true leaves. Use clean scissors to cut the microgreens just above the soil level. Rinse the harvested microgreens gently with water and pat them dry before consumption.

Enjoy the vibrant colour and unique flavour of red perilla microgreens in salads, wraps, sushi, and other culinary creations!
