To plant the Yel ow Sweet Spanish variety of onions, follow these steps:

1. **Timing:** Plant onion sets or transplants in early spring, as soon as the soil is workable and temperatures are consistently above freezing. Onions require a long growing season, typically around 100-120 days from planting to harvest.

2. **Location:** Choose a sunny location in your garden with well-drained soil. Onions prefer soil with a pH level between 6.0 and 7.0. Avoid areas where onions or other members of the Allium family (such as garlic or shallots) were recently grown to reduce the risk of disease.
