• Growth Habit: Zoysiagrass is a warm-season perennial grass that spreads laterally by stolons and rhizomes, forming a dense sod layer. It has excellent recuperative ability, allowing it to recover quickly from damage.
• Adaptability: Zoysiagrass thrives in regions with hot, humid summers and mild winters. It performs best in full sun but can tolerate partial shade. Zoysiagrass is well-suited for lawns, golf courses, and sports fields due to its durability and resilience.

Planting Instructions:

1. Timing: : Plant Zoysiagrass sod or plugs in late spring to early summer when soil temperatures are consistently above 70°F (21°C) for optimal root establishment. Zoysiagrass seeds can be planted in late spring to early summer as well but require higher soil temperatures for germination.
2. Site Preparation: Prepare the planting area by removing any existing vegetation, rocks, or debris. Loosen the topsoil to a depth of 4 to 6 inches using a rake or garden tiller to create a smooth, level seedbed.
3. Soil Installation: If planting Zoysiagrass sod, lay the sod pieces tightly together, staggering the seams like bricks on a wall to prevent gaps. Press the sod firmly into the soil to ensure good contact and water thoroughly immediately after installation.
4. Plug Installation:If planting Zoysiagrass plugs, space the plugs 6 to 12 inches apart in a grid pattern across the planting area. Dig a hole slightly larger than the plug and plant it at the same depth as it was in the container. Water the plugs thoroughly after planting.
5. Seed Distribution: If planting Zoysiagrass seeds, broadcast the seed evenly over the prepared soil surface using a seed spreader or by hand. Apply the seed at a rate of 1 to 2 pounds per 1,000 square feet for establishing new lawns. Rake the seed lightly into the soil to ensure good seed-to-soil contact.
