Planting Instructions:

      • Location:Full sun.
      • Soil:Well-drained soil with moderate fertility.
      • Planting:Direct sow seeds outdoors after the danger of frost has passed, as sunflowers do not transplant well. Plant seeds 1 to 2 inches deep and 6 to 12 inches apart, depending on the variety.
      • Watering:Water regularly to keep the soil consistently moist until the seeds germinate. Once established, sunflowers are moderately drought-tolerant.
      • Maintenance:Provide support for tall varieties to prevent them from bending or breaking. Deadhead spent flowers to prolong blooming. Harvest seeds for snacking or bird feeders when the flower heads begin to droop and the seeds are plump and firm.
